Hosted by BFA Graphic Design program at Pacific Northwest College of Art (PNCA) since 2016, the PNCA Design Lecture Series welcomes in a diverse range of creative folks to explore the broad and vibrant potential of design.
This years designers doing a lecture include Marshall Wang, Molly Dyson (Wieden + Kennedy) and Karen Hsu (Omnivore).

Project Overview: Visual identity for the 2026–2027 Design Lecture Series hosted at PNCA.
Goal: Create a flexible visual system using color, typography, scale, layout, and motion across print and digital applications.
Problem: Each year, the series needs a fresh identity that engages students and the broader community while introducing new ideas in design.
Solution: Research each designer’s work to develop unique visual themes, styles, and color palettes within a cohesive system. Each poster follows the same framework while reflecting the individual designer’s practice.
The series explored what design is and what it can contribute to the world through bold visuals inspired by each designer’s work..

This project taught me how to build a flexible design system while maintaining a consistent visual identity. I learned the importance of researching a designer’s work, translating their ideas into visual elements, and balancing typography, color, scale, and composition to create designs that feel connected but still distinct.
